Nice to see Janis is still being reviewed and advertised on the 'family' pages.
I get the Gaily News delivered to my inbox, and was pleasantly surprised to see this from the album:

SING OUT LOUD, SING OUT STRONG
Janis Ian's "Unreleased 3: Society's Child
http://tinyurl.com/2ejrqs
"Features the acoustic version of the original hit, Society's Child - a compilation of previously unreleased tracks and demos done "only for the fans". As many of you know, we began this series as a way to fill in the gap between major-label-release CD's. Since that first effort, put together on a shoe string and a prayer by myself and Tina Abato, we've done two more. This one is my favorite. It's my favorite because I had the most time to put it together; Tina and I started working on the design and song choices back in June. There's a good mixture of solo and band work here, with songs that have been covered by other artists (Amsterdam: Joan Baez, This Old Town: Nanci Griffith) but were never put out by me, songs that were demo'd for projects that never happened (If We Had Wings, Never Laid A Hand On Your Heart), alternate versions of songs the record company wouldn't release (Ride Me Like A Wave wet mix), and the like. Additionally, there's a live version of Society's Child, in here because we've had so many requests for it this year. And a couple of songs like Rate My Music that irritate people so much that I've had trouble getting them out there!
