Hello all,
Long time no visit.
I hope all is well and wonderful with everyone..

I just had to post that Carly chose Janis' SOCIETY'S CHILD as part of her
2 favorite songs for each day this week on BBC RADIO 2's TRACKS OF MY YEARS programme

Carly had a great list for the whole week! The lady has great taste in music!
Thanks for that, SFBill.

Carly has quite an eclectic mix of choices! "Society's Child" fits right in!

Welcome Back, SFBill!

Did you see Janis' at the Brava Theater in SF last October?

:)

Hi Andrea and Bat
Thanks for the holla back--ooh I'm trying too hard to be kool
LOL
I sadly missed JI in SF October last---why? probably due to my work commute from SF to the east bay---
You were so generous to acknowledge my post after so long away!
It really is hard to keep up here--and that is a good thing because the JI MB rocks and rolls! I do check in from time to time.
And yes--Carly's taste is all over the map.
check out her new video

Nice to meet you SFBill-I'm one of the new kids on the block. ;) Carly's is number two in my book. Janis is of course number one. She sure does look great. Heard the interview on one of the links you gave. Thanks!

Talk about looking good. Here she is with James 40 years ago. Song gives me goose bumps. You Can Close Your Eyes (http://www.septembergrass.net/media/JT_carly_77_yccye.mpg) Might take a while to download but worth the wait.

I love Carly Simon. Her last album, Moonlight Serenade, has hardly been off my CD player since it was released.

Hey there, Nina
If you like MOONLIGHT SERENADE--check out Carly's newest--INTO WHITE

absoultely GLORIOUS

Originally, Carly wanted to record an album with Booker T--(because she liked his work on some old Bill Withers albums!)
--SONY said they didn't think they could sell it--GRRRRROAN
They wanted a lullabye album----
well in a way they were right--Carly and crew certainly made some fine adjustments to make an album that debuted at #13--and one that does real nice things to you---it's a gorgeous album.

Here's a better link to Close Your Eyes (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=s5eDHrDwf_0&mode=related&search=) I didn't realize it was up on U Tube. It's my favorite JT song and hearing him and Carly sing is wonderful, though kind of sad.

I'm hoping Carly is there again when I go to her brother-in-law Livingston Taylor's concert on the Vineyard. Last summer she was in the audience with Trudy Taylor and got up on stage to sing "Best of Friends" with Livingston. I shook her hand and spoke briefly to her after the show. I had a sweat shirt on from her "Midnight Farm" shop and she thanked me for spreading the word. Gosh she's got the biggest hands I've ever seen on a woman.
