ive got the Gout. the pain i was told by my dr is what females experence while giving birth . if i would of known how painfull it was i would of never gotten my x wifes pregnant. LOL . anyone else ever have gout? anyone know if my moms remedy of eating sardines will help? i dont think so. ive got indomethacin from my dr and it is working so i think i will skip the sardiens. anyway hi to everyone ive been away for a while traveling . Mike--no idea on sardines, but gout is caused by too much uric acid in the system if I remember right. There are effective treatments for it, but I'd recommend a trip to the doctor for a good checking-over just as soon as you can manage it.

That must be very painful, and Amy is right, rich food is contraindicated and sardeines fall into that cateogry. There is an episode of the cartoon "King of the Hill" where the Bobby character, a little boy, develops gout after becoming addicted to creamed herring at a local deli.
