"Damnit Hoops!" complained Sister_Rose softly. "They make these space ships harder to steal by the minute. I am working on this lock for about 15 minutes now. It's going way too slow." "Calm down Sister", whispered Hoops. "You are doing well. It's just made out of several locks in one. You have had about 4 of them. There are only 2 left. You obviously cracked the combi."
Sister_Rose grumbled but kept working on the lock steadily. Sweat was dripping over her face. Hoops stood guard and handed Sister-Rose the instruments she needed. It was warm and dark in the dockingport. Hoops had to light the area for Sister_Rose she was working on. Little clicks sounded whenever Sister_Rose turned the lock.
"How is it coming along?" whispered Marcia who nervously drummed on the lifesize crate she was standing next to. "Stop drumming for a second, Marcia", said Hoops softly. "We need to be as quiet as possible so we don't attract attention. Besides, I think it Sister_Rose needs silence..." "Yeah, but my Bat is defrosting here!", protested Marcia. Nevertheless she did her best to keep her hands and fingers still.
"Ah, we're in!", said Sister_Rose with a happy expression. "Hoops, can you disable the alarm?" Hoops put an oldfashioned stethoscope and a solarflashlight to the alarmbox and pressed in some Clavescian signs. Marcia thought she was about to die from nervousness. This took so long! How could these two women stay so calm? "Done!" smiled Hoops. "Marcia, your turn". Glad that the waiting was finally over, Marcia directed the hovercrate into the alien spaceship.
"Whoa! Great ship." said Hoops joyfully. "I am certain this ship is fast enough to escape the stasyspolice by the time they find out we are leaving with it. The Clavescians are famous for their fast ships." Marca said: "Well, the will find out one of their cryostaystanks is missing, complete with a travelcrate. And then they'll notice that it's the Bat that is stolen and that I am gone. They'll know what to look for then." Sister_Rose giggled: "And that is where we come in. We'll give them something to look for. Only not the right thing."
"Once we're out of this dockingport I'll contact 'the Panda'." Hoops added while she was fidgeting with some wires. "She'll put them on a false track". In the spaceship the basic lights suddenly went on as a sign that they were ready to go. Hoops tucked the wires back behind the panel.
Sister_Rose sat in the navigationseat and warned: "Hold on everyone. And secure that travelcrate Marcia. They won't give us permission to leave, so it's going to be a bit rough at the beginning." She closed both the inner and the outer hatch and put on her glasses. Or Hoop's glasses. That was a bit unclear. Even to them.
Marcia sat back in the passengersseat biting her nails and Hoops sat next to Sister_Rose in the tactical helm seat. Hoops admired the smooth panelling and the possibilities this ship had. "Ah weaponry...", she said delighted. "Always comes in handy." Sister_Rose asked: "Everyone ready to go?" Then she...
