Prince Harry to serve in Iraq
1.30, Sat Feb 17 2007
Prince Harry will be deployed to Iraq in a matter of weeks.
The 22-year-old will be sent to Basra in southern Iraq with his regiment, the Blues and Royals.
Defence Secretary Des Browne is expected to make the announcement soon.
Harry has made no secret of his desire to see action - even threatening to resign his commission if he is exempted from active service.
The 22-year-old prince, known as Troop Commander Wales by his regiment, has trained to command 11 soldiers and four Scimitar tanks.
Prince Harry, who graduated last year from the Royal Military Academy at Sandhurst, said in an interview in 2005 that he was keen to fight for his country.

Prince Edward was in on the Falklands "war", wasn't he? Presumably in a safe job on some very big well-armored ship.
Bet Harry won't have any problems getting adequte body armor, etc.--as if he'll need it at his desk.

It was Prince Andrew, Dave. Poor old Prince Edward couldn't even hack it in the military and resigned before finishing his time. He is more at home in the theatre my dear.

Hmmm
Tony Blair is expected to announce a fixed timetable withdrawal of British troops.
So all it takes is Prince Troop Commander Wales who is "keen to fight for his country" by going to Basra, and a whole bunch of the other British soldiers get to go home?
Wonder if an American princess (Britney is looking rather militant these days) would suffice for a phased deployment of American troops.

OK guys, Peace! We can love and support our loved ones and hate this useless war. Are we going to ever teach this government to be a democracy? I don't think so. The three members of my family who have been there say the Iraqi people don't like us. Well, they do take the blankets and food; the children love our candy but don't go outside without you bullet proof vest or they will shoot you. I feel for our young people out there. I think mr bush should go out there with his vest and no social security officers to guard him and lets see how he does. he should walk the walk and talk the talk before he sends our people into battle.
Peace!!! Darlene
Yea, Dave I like the idea of sending Britney Spears she has the haircut for it and she is already messed up. Darlene

Britney Spears needs to learn from this. Prince Harry doesn't. Does he hate his family SSSSSOOOOO much that this is actually making him WANT to go???? The offspring a lovely person in the form the late Princess Diana who is still loved by the British and all round the world. It was truly a sad day when the loveliest person of all was laid to rest. :(

Maybe his family know who his real father is, and want him away from the firm:rolleyes:
