View Full Version : Your dreams?
This morning when I woke up the sky was so blue and the birds were singing, spring is near and I started dreaming... what if I could realize one of my oldest dreams... take a year off and travel round the world by bike together with a friend, living outdoors...
and I wondered what my fellow Rudies are dreaming of??? apart from having Janis at your home for a LRC or sitting in the front row at a Janis show.

Having Janis at my home for a LRC or sitting in the front row at a Janis show.... just that Mimi, but also winning the jackpot on the lottery, getting my passport and unlimited ££££££££ together and travelling to see all the Rudie friends I've made in the past year :) :) :)
When I was younger my dream used to be travelling around with an old bus with a mattrass thrown in the back. As I became a little older this changed into a more luxerious camper  Nowadays I prefer a nice hotel.
My dream for the last some years is a hotel for SM women. A nice bright, bed and breakfast where players from all over the world would want to sleep. Something with good isolation in the rooms :o With one or two simple playstations per room. And of course a big, clean, well equipped dungeon with a nice atmosphere.
The breakfastroom (morning) would also be used as a lunchroom (daytime) It would be bright and colourfull with mozaics here and there. I would serve biologic food & drinks on colourfull, sunny plates etc. People from the gay community would come there for lunch, a snack or a nice cup of coffee.
Of course this place would also have a big women's sauna with steambaths, jacuzi's, sauna's and showers, etc. People would come there to meet and talk and enjoy the sauna. I would have decorations of strong mythological female figures. It would be so nice and relaxing to be there.

My dream would be take a year (or more! :) ) for a round-the-world surfari. Sort of 'The Endless Summer,' revisited.
Outside of that, I'd like to sing 'Take Me Out to the Ballgame' during the seventh inning stretch at Wrigley Park some day. If only from the bleachers.

My number one dream is to ride in airplane!
My second dream would be independently wealthy not really wealthy but to live comfortable.
Number three would be to find that special love of my life to hold and be there for each other.

Hmm, your number one dream is the same as my number one nightmare, especially nowadays, if you get my drift.
When I was a kid, I used to dream I could will myself to rise in the air and hover above any scene below. Just another advantage of growing up under questionable conditions I suppose, tho that could come in handy sometimes.

I deam of a sunny white sand beach in a lush tropical land. There are gentle brown skinned people who enjoy life, themselves, and us. Sparkling waves. I go snorkling with my friends on an undamaged reef. Late night dancing with My Lady to music we love on the deck of a small bar on the boardwalk. Holding hands in the moonlight as we make our way back to a small rented cottage, set on the hillside overlooking the bay. Breakfast each morning in that little cafe on the fishermens' docks. Lots of time, good health, and just barely enough money to do it.

That's interesting that your dream (or way to get away from something unpleasurable) becomes your nightmare. Its the same for me except, I still do that sometimes, just float up into the air and watch myself and others. That experience is so pleasurable that I want to fly. It would be cooler if I could just fly but in an airplane would be nice. I do get your drift about flying these days but, with the way my life has been, something like that would give me no fear.

I dream of a condo on a golf course where I could just walk on and play anytime I wanted to.

Great! Let's meet at midnight tonight and we'll hover over the earth and laugh at the silly humans down there. :p

LOL. Sounds like a good time to me! Where shall we meet to spend the wee hours hovering over the earth. It will be great to have someone to travel with. I am always alone floating around this great (well maybe not so great) earth and those humans are always up to something. They don't even know they are being watched. I have seen some pretty strange and sometimes cool activity going on down there.
It is a great adventure to go anywhere you want while just sitting in your living room traveling in your mind.
Sometime I will tell you about my safe place!

Hey Stephen,
I actually got to sing "Take me out to the ballgame" during the 7th inning streatch at Wrigley Field this past fall....one of the last home games of the season while I was in Chicago on a work assignment. It was great and if you ever get the chance to go, it's a beautiful old park!!

More dreams? Oh, that I can fly. As a child I dreamt of being able to stop time. That would come in handy, wouldn't it?
Sometimes I just dream I am very very rich. I own several houses in several countries. I never have to workl again ad can spend all my time on my hobbies.

I realised three dreams last year.
In April, I got to attend a living room concert, and indirectly contribute to the Pearl Foundation, one of the worthiest charities I've ever had the honour to contribute to.
In December, I got to hand some signed Janis Ian items to Paula Tsui, a Hong Kong singer who recorded a Cantonese version of "Here comes the night".
I've dreamed of the first event since late 2004, and the second event since early 2006.
And the third dream? That was really a last minute wish. In September or October last year, I decided I wanted to spend my birthday with my pandas, so I made arrangements and flew into San Diego and walked into Panda Habitat at the San Diego Zoo on the morning of my birthday. And this was the reception I received from three of my four bears:

Mei Sheng, the 3-year-old boy panda, had his face hidden by a tree branch

Bai Yun, the 15-year-old mama panda, had her tushie facing the crowd

Su Lin, the 15-month-old, girl cub, was up in her tree (as usual)
Daddy Gao, the 4th San Diego Zoo panda, was off-exhibit but I got to see him 2 days later.
But the bonus of my birthday trip, which actually confirmed the trip, was seeing Janis on the evening of my birthday.
As for this year, I'm planning to go to Wolong in China in August to celebrate my little cub's 1st birthday.

She was officially named Feng Yi on 10 February 2007. It's a very regal name, as the word "Feng" means phoenix in Chinese, and is a very majestic bird in Chinese mythology. But she will always be Yoong Ping to me. It's the name I gave her, and it means "Forever Peace".

I have this fantasy that is based on a weird old Eastern European fairytale I used to read to my niece and nephew when I babysat for them. The story is called "Little Fred and His Fiddle." After showing kindness to a big ugly giant by giving him his last three pennies, (this is a hyper-condensed version of the tale) the giant grants him three wishes, one of which is that no one can refuse him the first thing he asks.
In my version, it is no one can refuse you ANYTHING that you ask. So here is my series of requests, in order:
1. To have a private audience with President Bush
2. Make a deal with him that if I solve the shi*load of problems he created with his idiotic foreign policy, that he will fire his entire administration and resign the Presidency on the basis of gross incompetence.
3. Convene a meeting with all the heads of state in the middle east and tell them to cut their fratricidal, misogynistic, extremist BS NOW and do something to help their own people.
4. Ask the entire ruling class of North Korea and Myanmar (formerly Burma) to exile themselves to Antarctica.
5. Ask TV, Film, book and music producers to only produce material that and promote talent that has educational and/or artistic merit.
And I could go on and on, but you get the idea.
By the way, Little Fred's other two wishes involved getting a fiddle, and that no one would be able to resist dancing when he played it. When his enemies were about to hang him, his last request was to play a tune on his fiddle. He played and played until they all danced themselves to death.
I told you it was weird.

I rather liked the story as well....much nicer than most stories in which someone gets three wishes.
Some religions/spiritual groups (Hindus, Spiritualists, and a certain number of New Agers) believe that flying dreams are how we remember out-of-body experiences. Makes as much sense to me as anything else.
Pssst! Darlene! Where were you last night? I hovered and hovered over Brazil for the longest time but you never showed up.

Douglas Adams once wrote that "the trick to flying is to fall and miss the ground". The truly weird thing is that I have dreams in which I can do just that. Only dreams, alas, otherwise I probably would've hovered over Brazil for a while last night.

In my dreams I do hit the ground and I just dust myself off and go on my way!
Pretty cool, huh, Darlene

Hoops,
You know, there are times when one of them there magic fiddles could come in real handy. . . like at the Republican National Convention.

When I was a kid I had a very vivid dream in which Carol Burnett taught me to fly like Peter Pan. The secret is that you have to take off into the wind. I'll never forget the feeling of lifting off for the first time. Odd that I'm not comfortable on ladders or standing on chairs, but I'm fine flying a plane. I've always wanted to fly like Superman.
Sorry Dee I thought we were supposed to meet in Australia?

Oh confounded mixups! I thought Australia was Monday, Darlene. Sometimes I get a bit discombobulated.
