I hope it's not inappropriate to do this here, but I just started a group at Eons.Com, a website for people over 50, to discuss horror and science fiction movies. It's a message board much like this one, and it's free. I know there are some fellow fans here, so I thought I'd share the link with you.

Hope to see some of you there!

Sounds scary! But you might see me there! I am a Hannibal Lector Fan. Maybe not horror enough for you, but I love those movies! I don't care for gore though, just mind psychological thrillers. Darlene

Actually, mostly we're discussing older films so far, way milder than the Lecter movies -- 1950s and 1960s stuff. But conversation about any horror or sci fi movie is welcome, and Hannibal is certainly a horror character!

I'll likely stop by and see whats what. My wife and I tend towards the classics anyway.. Thanks for the tip Jack

Much of my life IS science fiction, but alas I am not at the half century mark yet either.

I feel bad that folks feel discriminated against, so here's a link to one of the films you can see there:
http://www.ifilm.com/video/2402880
It's called "When Zombies Attack," and it's a (you should pardon the pun) dead-on spoof of cop reality shows. It runs about half an hour.
The Midnight Movies board now has links to a number of full-length movies including Todd Browning's "Freaks," "Night Of The Living Dead," "The Brain That Wouldn't Die," Ed Wood's "Plan 9 From Outer Space," and the silent "Nosferatu," among others. (Those familiar with the titles can see they range from classics to laughable turkeys). You don't have to join to watch them free -- though I've been looking at members' profiles and have seen at least one person who's still in her 40s.

I'll likely sneak in, i love talking about the old classics and you've already picked a few of my favorites. Introduced the wife to Invasion of the Saucermen recently and Teenagers from Outer Space. what fun!
OMG, Jack...I must send your site to my first cousin who is Professor at Wright State U in Dayton, OH...he teaches all about movies (cinema), and his particular love is the horror movie. In fact, he did his master's thesis on them, published under the title "Dark Dreams", by Charles Derry. You can probably get it and many other books of his on his site: http://www.geocities.com/charlesderry/index.html
He will be delighted to have a site dedicated to horror movies, film noir, etc., and will probably send his kids there, even though it is supposed to be for oldsters...who better to learn from than those who had to live through it? :D

Thanks, Bat. And thanks to those of you who've shown up there -- Darwoods, Redjack and Randy from PA. Dar, I'm glad you liked "Bambi Meets Godzilla!" I was so happy when I found out I could link to that one!
