About 1-2 hours ago there was a shooting at a mall here in my city The early reports said that they believe 5 people have been killed. On the news they anounced that there also was a shooting at another mall in another city (philadelphia)that also killed five people as well. It's just soo stupid! Why?

One minute you can be shopping or eating dinner and then the next you can be hiding from a gunman.

Much the same type of thing happened close by here too yesterday. Well, not here but in a city close to here a short way from where my son has a house a stone's throw away. There were two people shot. Today there was a shooting in Salt Lake (close to here also) where 5 people were shot. These all happened at malls too.

This sort of thing is scary enough when it happens at all, but a rash of them :eek: -- well, it must just be an awful coinicdence, right?

Here in Rotterdam there was an incident in the subway on the escalator. It was packed with people so nobody could go anywhere. And this guy started to stab all the women he could reach. People tried to jump off the stairs to get themselves to safety. It must have been horrible. Luckily it doesn't happen every week. This happened some years ago. But it's scary. Indeed, one minute you're stepping out of the metro, suspecting nothin. Next thing you know some disturbed person is stabbing at you. And at your friend, wife, sister or mother. Whoever is there. What a nightmare.

I remember a horrible night about 25 years ago at my parents' home when one of our neighbours shot a young man because he thought he was a burglar just entering his house. - It was drunken 18 year old coming home from a pub who had lost his way.
I really do not understand people whose first thought is to shoot a man they don't know.
