It's a bright, sunny day and I'm feelin' fine.
(Stole this thread idea from another forum I'm on. It felt so good to know others were grateful for the small things in life, I thought we should have the same opportunity.)
... because the terrible cold I caught somewhere last week is finally beginning to get a bit better...

Rosemary kept her word and gave up smoking, and I've just seen her off on the train to Perthshire. Peace reigns at last :)

...the sun is shining and the cat decided to be cute cuddly this morning.
My parents surprised me today by vacuumcleaning my house and putting a wonderful gulash in my refrigerator. Complete with applesauce! :D Also they took my laundry with them (it's wet outside and they have a dryer) My house looks so good!

Because I just opened a new can of coffee!
I'm in a good mood today because ...
I was finally able to get my boyfriend and a couple I know (my good friends Danielle & Paula) together for lunch. We had yummy smoked meat at a Deli, except for Jimmy who had the cabbage rolls. The conversation was fun and interesting and they all got along great!
I am in a good mood because...
I am not going to sleep in one room with Dee's boyfriend who just had cabbage. Can you spell flatulent...?

I'm in a good mood today because. . .
I am out of the office. Totally insane day responding to a tasker from "on high." This kind of crap does not usually happen to a historian, but I got lucky. Vague guidance as to what the final product should be/look like. After all this running around with hair on fire, it will probably never see the light of day anyway. Hoping the awful weather predicted will shut down the government tomorrow, then I will REALLY be happy. . .

Eva,
Have you never heard that expression, Love is blind?
What they don't tell you is it's also deaf and has NO sense of smell. :p

OK I still am in a good mood since yesterday. I had a friend visiting and we went for dinner to a nice small Spanish restaurant and after that... it was late before I went to sleep :p .
Eva, do you think your parents would stop by at my new appartment? With the vacuumcleaner? ;) :)

I am alive. My husband told me I am beautiful. All my children and their children are having a good day and I saw allot of them. Randy and Betty from Pa are on line on this site. My dogs are sitting on me. I cooked steak, green beans and potaoes with lemon curd for desert. Even the children like lemon curd. When life gives me lemons I guess I should always make lemon curd. :) Have a great evening!

And today I'm in a good mood because I rang the Tenor at St Andrew's and St George's last night .... and survived to tell the tale :)
Practice makes perfect, Annabelle...sounds like you're really having fun, learning a lot every day of ringing, and are really into it!
I like all your references and the church mag was fun to read...a literate bunch, refreshing.
Have fun at what you're doing...and don't worry about mistakes: only the whole city can hear, and you're bound to get better and better as the years peal off.:D
I'm happy today because my new Tiffany lamp is hung at last, brightening a little corner of my life; it's sleeting and nasty outside, but I'm in a nice warm house and Marcia stayed home today--she doesn't like to drive on ice.
My little cat, Zazu, has gotten a little less 'ribby'...I took her to the vet last month because she was getting very thin, though she is happy and active.
We'll go again and weigh her and do some blood tests...I am lighting a candle against amyloidosis: ruddy abbys are very genetically prone to it. Meanwhile I'm spoiling her with several handfuls, strategically timed, of Fancy Feast dry food, which seems to be like candy for cats. I have to feed her in some odd place, preferably while the rest of the cats are asleep...sneaky, but effective.
So I'm thankful to have her, too, seemingly healthy for the nonce.
Son Tony has the flu. BOOOO!
Has a nice wife who stays home an takes care of him. YAAAAAYYY!
I'm in a surprisingly good mood today considering I've been on the toilet a good deal of it (too much info I know) and I'm housebound today and tomorrow because of the weather. Happy Valentines to me. LOL

I'm in a good mood today because...Today it rained and it rained outside not inside. It was wonderful hearing that heavy rain and could not find one leak. Thank you god!
Wow! If Dee were you, that would give him a good mood too! :D ;)

If Dee were Darlene, he'd be Deerlene, which sounds too much like a new kind of low-calorie luncheon meat. :p
So Dee is happy today because he is just Dee and not a jerky called Deerlene.
I am happy because I have a day off. Not that I can sit down now and do nothing. But still, it's a day away from my job. Yay!

Thanks Bat. I hope Jason's article said it all. He was there last night, and I was leading for sometime on 10 bells ...with no mistakes

I tried eating beef jerky once. It was even more disgusting than sausages made in intestines. http://i90.photobucket.com/albums/k267/deemark/Emoticons/barf.jpg

Been ringing for nearly 10 years, Bat (October 9th) there alot more to it than just pulling a rope, you know :)
Annabel, I am sure there is a lot more to it than just pulling the rope.
Dee, the best sausages are in intestines and not in plastic. Believe me.
I am in a good mood because my workingday is finally over and my employer is going to pay for my dinner. He doesn't know it yet, but he will find out.

Don't worry Eva. It's just one of the fun things I like to do to pass the time. :)

The good mood continues today because I rang Treble without that "all-important" Cover Tenor (mostly) correctly. I couldn't have done that 2 or 3 months ago without messing the whole thing up. :) And I've had my hair done, beautiful sunny day too.

I'm in a good mood because I finally found my mother's recipe for pork pie. I've been looking for it since before Christmas! It took that long as I was looking in HER recipies, not mine. Silly me, she knew it so well that she never felt the need to write it down. I, on the other hand...

Uh Oh... I smell a food related threadjack. Everyone cover your eyes while we go off topic a bit.... OK, Randy, since it's only you looking.
You'll need a standard pie crust recipe. This works best with shortening or lard based doughs. The Pillsbury prepared one can work, but I find it a bit too sweet.
For the filling:
1 1/2 pounds ground pork butt
3/4 teaspoon cinnamon
3/8 teaspoon nutmeg
pinch of ground clove
pinch of ground sage
1/2 c water
salt and pepper to taste (I use about 1/2 teaspoon each)
1 mashed or riced potato (real potato, plain, do not add anything to it)
Cook all but the potato over low/medium heat till cooked through
Skim the fat off the top
Taste and add extra spices as desired (I like mine with more sage)
Add the potato
Fill the pie shell and put the top shell on. Pinch the edges and cut slits in the top to allow the steam to escape.
Bake at 375 F until top is lightly brown. I start checking at 30 minutes and let it keep going in 5 minute increments. You don't want to overbake as you'll be reheating it if there are leftovers.
Let rest 15-30 minutes before serving.
Serve with cornishons or sweet baby gherkins or pickeled onions.
End of threadjack. All of you can look now.

I am in a good mood today because I finally finished a project I had conceptualized in my head over a year ago, and it totally kicks butt, if I may say so myself.
I built one of those PowerPoint presentations that is set to a musical soundtrack. It is titled "A Tribute to Women in the Navy" and it is set to the song, "Everything's Coming Up Roses." It took me over a year to find just the right images I wanted to use. I spent the last three days working out the timing of the slide transitions and by George, I think I've finally got it!
In two weeks, I will be starting to take my dissertation on tour to various academic conferences, and of course, March being women's history month, I plan to get a lot of use out of it.
Regrettably, it is not possible to post it anywhere online, because the file is absolutely HUMONGUS. I use a lot of high resolution photos. You'll just have to take my word for it, it ROCKS.
John will be relieved that it is finally finished, he can't stand Ethel Merman's voice.

I am not in a good mood today. I am tired and grumpy.
I will be in a good mood later this week though because Î am taking a day off to paint a friends house. We'll have fun.
