I've just checked over the next website update, and here's a sneak preview - the Pearl Foundation had it's best year EVER! I'm told that between living room concerts, tip jar, website sale, Janis' own conributions, sale of the guitars, and the net merchandise, it's pushing SIX FIGURES!!!!

That is wonderful news Judy!
I am already looking forward to next year's sale!
I consider the foundation to be a very important cause, because I beleive so strongly in education in general, and making education available to truly motivated women who would otherwise not have the opportunity is truly a noble goal.

Judy I am so glad that so much money was made from the sale. I really don't know how it seemed as if she were giving the CD's away. Hay even I could buy some. Thanks Judy for the heads up, it is great to hear!

Well, I am absolutely thrilled to report that the Pearl Foundation took in over $100,000 this past year.
Yes, you read it right. Six figures. Unbelievable.
Before we all get too excited, remember that this was a very heavy touring year, with six living room concerts to boot. Chances of this happening again are really, really slim.
That being said, pat yourselves on the backs, folks! Between the LRC's, tip jar, Paypal and Amazon Honors, a dollar here and there in thanks for the website and free downloads, merchandise sales on the road, Yahoo! sales, and the holiday sale, we made an INCREDIBLE amount of money for the Foundation!
Pat and I are so stunned that we're not even going to try to start a new scholarship right now... we're just going to revel in the generosity everyone has shown. The next scholarship will be our 10th, so that's a banner as well.
And the best part is (to me), we did it honestly. All year long I've been telling people that our net merchandise goes to the Foundation. Well, it did; I cut the check this past week. After ALL the expenses, we still saw six figures going into the Foundation this year.
Amazing and astonishing.
And once again, we run a straight organization here! The Foundation's entire "personal" expenses for the year are $150.00, for filing its taxes. Everything else is either paid for through the merchandise sales, or by myself and Pat. And you folks. You wonderful, generous folks.
ROCK ON!

Janis, I had a feeling that with all the LRC's you did this year, that the year would turn out great for the foundation. Bravo! Now...you can get to work on your autobiography with piece of mind that you accomplished what you set out to do! Congrats!
