hadn't seen this particular performance before.
Judging by her hair it's from a few years back.

How about if I add the link now? Sorry about that. Boy I didn't know I could edit so far after the fact. Cool!

Seen a lot of "Seventeen" videos but not this one until now. Love the hair and what a nice guitar interlude...hadn't heard that version before either.

Thanks!!

Marcia :) What year was that?

Hmmm.....given that Dar posted this, I thought perhaps she had stumbled onto the long-lost Janis "food clip", previously known only to its star and Kathleen Brogan.

Mind, this clip is pretty cool too.

I like this performance quite a lot!!! I think she's playing one of the Santa Cruz guitars but its hard to see against the black clothes...so it can't all that old...but does anyone know where it was taped?

Thanks for finding that Dar....

Mmmmmm...one earring, cowl neck sweater, modified Olivia Newton-John haircut...I'd guess early 80's... Nice to see her singing it with eyes OPEN. Beautiful!

mixty, sharp eye there! with the earrings, i had to go back and look for myself. I'm a one earring type of girl and like to see when others share my style in that way, only i'm left ear ( so was Diane,my girlfriend , i tell ya it's fate!) i'd aim for the early ninties myself with the hairstyle Janis is sporting...please don't hurt me anyone...it's like a mod mullet and the collar is too small for the 80's ...god, i don't want to correct you still, there are two earrings only both in the same ear...very early 90's anyway,Janis looks fabulous! and sounds incredible!!how does she seem to sound better every time i hear her?

Ahhhh, you have better eyes than I do, hoops :D I didn't notice there were two earrings in her right ear. I'm curious about the wedding ring on her left hand... Knowing what years she was formerly married would narrow down the date of the video. She continues to sound fabulous and look fabulous! Maybe she'll tell us the secrets of staying youthful in voice and appearance in her autobiography!

I don't know but I don't think it is a Santa Cruz Janis is playing...at least not the Janis model. I don't see any of the "Rude Girl" logos on it......

Marcia :)

glad you all enjoyed that clip, up until seeing that video I hadn't even realized that Janis had had a mullet phase........on her it looks good though.

At Seventeen will remain such a good song, for all people in the world feeling exactly the same way. I suppose almost everybody can identify with it :)

..I'd date it between 1984 and 1989....(just watched it again. Janis' performance is great and the camera work is steady and slow, with no chopping and cutting about. Wonderful.
