Has anyone seen this on youtube?

It's pretty 70's cliche but I like her performance. However it looks like she wants to bite someone...
Janis Ian at the end, just so funny!

Great to see Janis introduced there at the end. What a voice Shirley has! I have her recently issued greatest hits CD, with Goldfinger, trendy remixes and much, much more!

I was introduced to Shirley Bassey in a small Philadelphia bar called Miss P's in the early seventies, where one of the drag queens kept lipsynching her big drama number "This Is My Life." When I saw her on television I noticed that the odd thing he did with his mouth -- seeming to smirk, and favoring one side of it -- was something the real Shirley did too. (And she does it on this video).
I have her greatest hits too. I enjoy her because of the camp factor. Every time I hear her belt out, "Such a cold finger!", I pretty much fall apart laughing.

 Thats funny amellio. I tried to watch the performance last week but I had a hard time and shut it down because her bitting was killing me (maybe she was having trouble with her jaw). After your post I went back and watched the whole thing. It is a winner just seeing the look on Janis face after being introduced. Thanks for the heads up!;)
Has anyone seen this on youtube?
Yup, but it never hurts to see/hear more anything Janis Ian. :D

Wouldn't it be lovely if Billie Holiday could perform "Jesse"? Just once, even in a private performance for Janis?

Never ever thought of that, but then why would I?
Think that could sound really nice.

Lori, very funny.
You know, one of my great regrets is that Billie Holiday died before I could meet her. The thought of her performing one of my songs... damn... although I'd probably pick Silly Habits.

And that shot of Janis makes me want to be about 30 years younger!
The gaydar went off like alarm bells!
Shirley has a good voice, but her mannerisms are hokey. Janis is still the one.
Shirley had Janis as her piano player? Wow ...

Great version of Jesse. I recognised Janis as soon as they pulled back. What a treat to see/hear her playing piano, something I have never seen her ever do. I've only seen her in concert since after the hand injury had restricted her to guitar only perofrmances.
YouTube is a great site...I agree Dar.

Marcia put on 'Night Rains' CD last night, and I really heard Janis play piano for the first time (again!) ...really was listening hard, I guess. The woman is a brilliant pianist! I had to get a couple CDs to send to son James, also a pianist and a natural musician...I know he'll learn to play her stuff too, and I'll look forward to hearing it. If Janis ever thinks she has recovered enough to start playing again, we're all in for a great treat!...she's really something very special, as a pianist, remember she wrote the song, too, sings it while playing...oh, yeah. A consummate musician. Not your average singer/songwriter. Not every pianist can play guitar, too, as well as they play piano, but she can!
We're very lucky to be able to know her. A legend in her own time, I think.:D
