This mostly concerns Dutch fans:
Radio 3Fm has just started their annual charity action again:
3 dis-jockeys locked themselves up in a glass house for 3 days without food and try to collect as much money as possible for charity.
The charity goal this year is the dutch red cross and an action to remove leftover landmines.

Serious request:

Anyway: one of the ways they collect money is by people donating money and then request a record to be played on the most popular national radio station.
If you want your favorite number to be played on the radio you have to donate for example 15 euro.
Needless to say there's going to be at least 1 song of Janis Ian to be played repeatedly these 4 days.;)

Maybe a nice idea for other dutch fans, to get some more Janis Ian on the radio this week?

Btw: there's also many other ways to contribute, for example to donate a signed item for the eBay auctions this year. But all my Janis Ian items are signed to my name.:P

Maybe we can think of some ways as fans to help the action and at the same time get a bit more publicity for Folk is the New Black?

Mieke I really hope your donation for this good cause will get Janis on the radio.

But .. I have to admit I'm a bit sceptic. Radio 3fm isn't the kind of station that would play Janis music. I've asked them a zillion time to update the discography of Janis (the latest album mentioned is God and the FBI) and they still didn't.

I noticed that..lol
I agree with what you say about 3Fm, that's why I think this action is funny...now they have to play some good music instead of the usual garbage.
I mean there's only so much of Frans Bauer I can take.:D
I'm just going to keep trying to get some serious dis-jockeys interested in Folk is the New Black.:P
