Well, we're nine days away from closing the sale - and we're up to almost $12,000!! Last year's sale, which was considerably longer, raised a total of $17,000 (though that amount includes postage and handling costs, to be honest), so we think this is going very well. And of course, we have the two guitar bids, which will bring it up considerably again!
I see that the last of the shiny red shirts sold; too bad I'm not as small as I once was, back in my roping days, or I'd have bought it for squaredance night. And the picture frames are finally selling, thanks to Jenny's post. They're absolutely beautiful. (This year, because I'm helping out, I get paid in merchandise - one of each item I want, except for the Living Room Concert and other foundation items of course.) The bookmarks are beautiful too, though I have to admit that they're much too pretty to use in a book. Mine are currently stuck on my fridge with magnets.
Sales have slowed, fortunately for the gals. Janis told me she now knows the first name of every local post office worker - at two different stations! I tell you what, I just don't know how they keep their energy up.
Well, that's it for the update. I'm anxiously checking figures every night when I get home from work (and to be perfectly frank, I check them sometimes at work, too - God bless computers!). I know from the messages here that packages have been arriving quickly, and though there have been some mistakes in the orders, I also know that Janis makes them right. What a great world it is!
I hear some interesting little things are planned for the website next year, mostly to do with the merchandise. A monthly sales item, I'm told, knocked down ridiculously low. What a treat!!
Thanks to all of you for being so supportive!!
