For you newer folks click under NEWS and then click on MONTHLY UPDATE... Janis Thank you so much for giving us all a year that we will remember...
Though we sure didn't rack up the miles that you, Philip & Yan did... We sure understand better now what you must go through... LOL 4 nights in a row was a bit much even to see you... I mean the shows were all great but soooooooo many miles... If I had to pick a favorite concert that we attended this year it would be Pittsburgh for all the wrong reasons.... Sooo many rudies made your show even greater!
Again Janis & Staff... Thank you... Oh I think your selling Saxman Mike too cheap on the sale... especially as he even comes with a shirt!
Best to you and don't you forget us during your year off...
With heaps and heaps of friendship and appreciation

Was going to post about the December update. I hope you'll continue those Janis, even when you are not touring!! I love reading about what you've been up to. Thanks for all of the wonderful concerts this year. We enjoyed travelling around to see and hear you and to meet up with other Rudies. It was by far the best part(s) of my year!!
Marcia :)

Holy Toledo, $300K for the Pearl Foundation in one year (so far)! That's just a remarkable charitable commitment, and one with long-lasting effects.

Is it $300,000 or $30,000? Either way is great. What's an extra zero anyway?

It has been a good year.....60.000 miles......29 weeks away from home............thereŽll be another album in the future.....
Janis...I saw you three times this year, with almost all of my family. First with my wife....then with my daughter and son, (that trip was made because of a dare from Eva, The Evil Pirate, someone who I am in depth with for life, cause that trip turned out to be one of the highlights in all of our lives, much more fun than going to Greek)
Your magic on stage, the spell you have so great control over....and is felt so well in your shows is unique......and I assure you that no artist I have seen on stage has ever touched me in the way you do, for that I thank you.
I am glad to hear that you plan to have a new album in the future and hopefully go back on the road.
For now thank you for a fantastic year, take care and best to you in writing your autobiography.
Ps. Could I ask you to have all of your work listed in one place: albums, cdŽs, records you have made, duos with others, etc.
Pps. Thank you Pat for lending us Janis for 29 weeks and 60.000 miles, it really needs a really special and strong person and huge amount of love towards your partner....I know.
Ppps. Yan, Philip, JohnL, Kimbe and staff, thank you for making Janis music and merchandise available to us.
Janis...I saw you three times this year, with almost all of my family.
Hey, I saw Janis three times this year, too! At the UK LRC and the Brighton show the following evening, and then 7 months later, on her last show in San Diego. The first two took more than a year to plan, while the third was more or less spontaneous.
Malaysia - London - Brighton - London - Malaysia
13,214 miles or approximately 21,264 km
Malaysia - San Diego - Malaysia
17,788 miles or approximately 28,628 km

Chet - wow - there needs to be an award for the one who's traveled the farthest to attend a Janis concert!!!!!
P.S. So happy to see you back here more often....
I think two awards will be in place Denise: for Marjan and for Chet. This way we don't have to count all the miles and kilometres. We just give the both something nice: the Rudie Travel Award!

Thanks Eva, but I'm still not sure if I deserve that award. I only attended 15 shows in 2006 and that includes two LRC.
By the way did you'll noticed the new price for a LRC??? 10K, that makes buying a original JI guitar cheep, but still out of reach of my budget at the moment.
