What a wonderful evening we had today!! Janis was at her best, getting the audience from nail falling silence into outburst of laughter.
As usual I went on the road around 4pm just to avoid traffic jams and I arrived at the Meervaart shortly before 5.30pm. Across the road there was a nice Grand Cafe, were I sat down for dinner and kill time before the concert. Around 7pm I walked to the theater and there begun the waiting for all the other Rudies. In line of apperance came Agnes and friend, Rika and Carla, Jan, Corita and friends, the Holland Girls Anita and Youetta, and Eva along with Manchester Anne and hubbie Mike. It was really great to meet Anne and Mike again since April.
As said Janis did a great show, practising her new learned Dutch words once again. And she did some great guitarsolo's as well. The surprise song of the evening was that she sung "On the other side of the sun" instead of the "Crocodile song". The audience responded great to the songs "Married in London" and "My Autobiography" they are indeed funny everytime you here them. Soooo afterwards we all stood in line for more stuff to be signed, and Janis told me "No need to be nervous, we will have a great time tomorrow" OOPS that is today ... only about twelve hours to go ... I have to go to bed, not sure I will sleep though

Hey Marjan, you opened the thread. You beat Agnes and me to it this time! :D
It was indeed a wonderful concert. Once again. From my perspective Janis was in topform. And I sat on the first row. I get the urge to faint from happiness every time I think of it. But Pirate Queens don't faint. So I won't.

I had dinner with Manchester Anne and Mike before the show. We were JUST in time (I see a pattern here... In Rotterdam I was JUST in time too...) and smelling of garlic. It was good to see / breath on everyone again. Jan, Rika, Carla, etc... everyone I had missed on the previous shows. And it was such a pleasant surprise to see how well Corita looked. You're getting there, girl! :)

LRC tomorrow... I mean in about 12 hours... Man, I am excited! Sleep well tonight, Marjan.

From my viewpoint, it was the best show of the year.

With Kerkrade being a close second as far as I'm concerned! :) Dang, I loved that audience!
But Amsterdam had Anne & Mike... I don't think I have to tell you that meeting them was wonderful, but I will anyway ;) :D

Anyway; the Amsterdam setlist:

When the party's over
From me to you
The other side of the sun
When I lay down
In the winter
Married in London
I hear you sing again
Between the lines
--------
Jesse
Watercolors
Here comes the night
All those promises
My autobiography
At seventeen
--------
Fly too high
Joy

The 'Best show of the Year' award goes to Janis, and the 'Best Parody of an Aphorism' goes to Marjan for "... nail falling silence ".
You make me laugh out loud, Marjan; we would say that one could hear a pin drop, but I love the way you put it! :D
Delightful, these Dutch!

Wow!!!!!!!! Sounds Like a great show. Soooo sad to have missed the show , but I couldn't make the trip.....

Thanks for your wonderful reviews and the setlist, I really appreciated at least having them to read, and it seems I missed a truly special show.

Does anyone know if there will be a dvd available of one of this years show?
