From The New York Times:

A Night Out With: Janis Ian
At Fifty-Five

"IN a small beige hotel room in Midtown, Janis Ian was warming up. Sitting on a twin bed, she pulled her new guitar out of its white, velvet-lined case. "Eight weeks old," she said. "It's a baby." The baby twanged."

Also a very nice picture..read more:

That was a great interview, thanks!

I forwarded it to CBS Sunday Morning. I have written them three times now about Janis. I told them that she would make a great story on their show. I will keep the pressure on!!!

Lin, I have seen CBS Sunday morning feature artists such as Joni Mitchell and Carole King. Each time they do that I think, "Why not JANIS?!" I hope they listen to you!

Yiekes........what I noticed was that terrible word "retirement".........

And she misses playing with a band. Whenever Janis decides to play with a band I WILL BE THERE.

"Stagefright" (is that the right word) she seems to have stagefright before she takes to the stage, that means she is giving it 150%plus in every show.

Phew, what a lady Lady Janis is. Thanks for posting this Moon Rose..........I mean Sister rose............(Love your avatar)

Actually, if I'm not mistaken, Janis was featured on Sunday morning around a decade ago. I remember distinctly watching it and being shocked at her life story. I think it was around the the time of her comeback in '92/'93. Maybe someone else remembers? I would love seeing it again for sure.
