My fellow Rudies,

As you know, All Hallow's Eve is nigh. Earlier, I displayed a "phone-booth" project that I wanted to somehow benefit the Pearl Foundation.

A few suggestions came as a result of that post, and I think I have a plan.

This "phone-booth' is just right for an Halloween contest, and I think that a Pledge-Bid auction might work.

This auction can be public or silent, depending on the concensus.

I plan to begin this "contest" next weekend, (Saturday, October 7th,) and let it run for two weeks. That way, I'll have time to confirm the winning pledge-bid and can ship it in time for Halloween.

Please let me know what you think of the plan, offer any suggestions or other ideas by posting here or PM. When everything's worked out, I'll post the official contest rules.

Thanks.

"Hello? Hello? Anyone there?"

C'mon, folks! Help me out here. Let's all get into the spirit, (so to speak.)

These things are PERFECT for Halloween and any other time of year for that matter. (Think of Rocky Horror Picture Show.)

I sell these one-of-a-kind masterpieces for $695.00 plus shipping, about $130.00 by UPS.

This is your chance to own one for a fraction of that, plus help out the Pearl Foundation. By the way, this bid-auction is "Janis Approved." 100% of the proceeds go directly to the Foundation, (I don't even come in contact with the money.) And I pay the shipping myself; U.S. only. Sorry I'm not that rich for overseas shipping.

Let me know what you think. I just KNOW we have some eclectic Rudies out there.

Thanks.

Sister Rose-

Yes, indeed! That is the plan. I'd like to get everyone's input who might be interested, whether to do a silent or public (on the forum) auction. The "bids" will actually be pledges to the Pearl Foundation and the highest pledge/bid will win.:)

Thanks. You have officially gotten the ball rolling. Do you think it should be a public deal or silent?

Hey Bro-

I got your PM yesterday, thanks for the kind words.

It's good that you might be interested in this fundraising effort. I don't know that there will be enough people participating though. I may have to cancel or postpone it. We'll see.

Take care

I would really like to participate, but I just don't have the disposable income right now to make any kind of a meaningful bid.

I know what you mean. Maybe it wasn't such a good idea to try this when Christmas is just around the corner.

Time to re-think.
