View Full Version : Hi everyone
This is my very first post, but I have been really enjoying the message board for a while, so I have already got to know most of you guys, and you are all so kind and helpful to each other it is really inspiring. A special bunch of people who all love janis, as I do, but ive only got into janis' music this year so Ive got a lot to discover yet. I look forward to it all.

Hi Sal...
Welcome to the Klump.....Nice to meet you... I guess as a rudie the one thing we seem to know is when all else fails we got each other... That said a couple warnings come to mind.... Careful of the Pirates... You just never know what they are up to.... Be careful about using the micro-wave as you just never know who's parrot might be nesting there... Also despite what certain coffin makers may imply we have only friendly happy dragons here........ At times when things get rough just remember that it is REDJACK'S fault... Great to have you with us.... So have you had the opportunity to see Janis perform? If not do so...She does a show fit for a king.... Better then that her show even amazes rudies... That said... Again Sal... Welcome....
Best wishes

Welcome Sal-
Don't fret too much about the pirates. But do pay attention to Randy's warning about RedJack. Also, while the Dragon's here are happy and friendly, they bring a lot of baggage and can turn on you in a heartbeat.:D
Beware...the Coffin-Builder.:D

Welcome aboard Sal, glad to see you came out of your lurcking mode :D
It is always difficult to place the first post, but when you finally found the courage, you find yourself in a warm Rudie bath.
Enjoy your stay and future postings!
Welcome Sal - it's a very nice place to spend some time!! You are going to like it here! Have you seen Janis in concert yet?
Lin
Hi Sal, welcome to the message board.
Do you, by any chance, live in Sheffield or Edinburgh?
;)
Thanks to you all for the warm welcome. I havent seen Janis in concert yet, but have made plans to go to Amsterdam in October. I am really excited about this, the only problem is that I have suddenly discovered I have developed a fear of flying. Ive never had such a fear before, but its been about 4 years since I last went on a plane and I cant explain where its come from, other than the fact that the world has changed in that time, and Ive let it get to me.
Anyway we shall see how it goes, but would love to see Janis then.
In the meantime what exactly is stemming? I'm confused.
Thanks to you all again. Love Sal

Sal, Sal, Sal....
Lest us begin with your fear of flying..... Should you not be willing to fly to see Janis you will find it something you will regret for the rest of your life... Even if you saw Janis a week later... It would still be a missed opportunity to see a part of living music history, not to mention a friend... If you don't go because of a fear of flying then my friend your missing a milestone of life... and well you know... if your not living then you must be dying.... So pack your stuff and leap onto the plan without fear..... Sal don't be afraid of getting on a plane to see Janis... Be afraid of what you might say when your standing in front of her the first time... Now those first words you state may and can be as many of us will attest are the scariest words you might ever say... Incidently... Not a good thing to call her Ms. Ian as certain coffin building board members can tell you.... Nor is it wise to say what I did the first time... "Geeeeee Janis... What a wonderful show.... I thought you were much taller...." Now after these years to reflect I now know the truth Sal... Janis is the shortest GIANT of a person I know...
Helpful hints:
Make certain to take a camera as Janis DOES permit photography and will make every effort to meet and greet any fans following the show... At least in the dozen times we've seen her in the past few years she ALWAYS has....
Make certain to identify yourself by your message board name!!!
Do not identify yourself as REDJACK from Pittsburgh...
Don't be embarrassed to ask Janis for an autograph
Say hello to Philip... He's an important part of the crew
Make certain to leave a donation in the TIP JAR for the foundation... This is important...
Now go get your tickets and fly without fear.... Remember if you don't see her this year she will not be touring for the next year or two because she will be writing her autobiography... So go now or don't let us hear you whinning about missing the show... Cause we won't be a sympathetic klump of rudies...:o
Incidently we will be waiting for your review to be posted:)
Best to you and yours Sal

Hi and Welcome, Sal!
"Stem" means Vote in Dutch. We are currently stuffing the ballot box with votes every day--but only once each-- for Person of the Year in Holland.
Here's the site: punch 'stem' , then wait for an e-mail to come to your inbox, and punch 'stem' again to make it official.

Greetings Sal. You've already got a test of the ..ahem... local wildlife. My advice is to carry a big stick and bang it against the tree stumps every once in a while. Scares the critters away.

Hi Sal, welcome aboard!
You'll be in for a real treat if you can make it to Amsterdam :) Of course Janis is THE treat, but there'll be lots of Dutch Rudies (and Manchester + hubby. Rowy, will you be there too?) as well.

LOL! Good advice my friend. Couldn't have said it any better myself. :p

Sal to get rid of your fright of flying do as I..............uhhhh no the last time I gave that advice I was outcasted for a while.......well just stop thinking negative thoughts turn off the radio, turn on the Janis Ian music and step into the airoplane.
I am going to see Janis in Rotterdam next oct. maybe two other conserts if I find a easy way to buy a ticket with a train:o and if there are tickets left to her concert........they sell fast in Holland........and you know what Sal, I am flying from Iceland a three hour flight and I have the most scare of flying any human can have......did the same thing last spring (fly to Holland to see Janis) had the (orange) time of my life, survived and want to do it again.....because that is the affect Janis has on you and the Rudie world here on this board.
Go to Amsterdam meet the Rudies, have fun.

and even if you DO manage to get on the plane, don't, whatever you do "Fly Too High" :D I can't afford to go, but I saw her in Edinburgh earlier on this year, so I'll cope by chatting on the JIMB and I'll keep wondering WHERE that LRC was in Edinburgh, and why, oh why, wasn't I invited..... :D

Welcome to the board, Sal! I'm spoiled rotten, I have gotten to see Janis twice already this year, and I'm hoping to see her again! I really am very spoiled... I hope you enjoy the boards, but I'm sure you'll enjoy the show! When Janis plays she always has me grinning from ear to ear!

Sister, I don't think as yet, you can manage to drive across the Pond, never mind the North Sea, and keep your vehicle afloat. Unless you're James Bond, of course. I know, I'll ask wvrose tonight..... :D :D :D

Too many tragedies and worries on both sides at the moment. Couldn't ask her, but I can only assume a Bond-like character fits Sister Rose's profile down to a tea... should be tee ..(I think.. )
