HI, everyone. I haven't been here in a long time. Isn't this a wonderful place? And of course, janis is the best. Just wish she would come to my part of the country sometime. hint hint. ;)

This thread is to talk about great friends we've made here on the mb and to share a story about a great friend i have made. She lives in new zealand (kiwisoupgirl) and I live in Oklahoma (lesa), but we email and talk a lot. It seems like we've known each other for years. It only makes sense that people who love a certain style of music should be friends!! We have yet to meet, but hope to do so someday.

Hope everyone has been well. take care Lesa

Hey Lesa!!! Its me, your kiwi buddy! :D Totally with you 110%, thanks to Janis and this wonderful place, I have found a best buddy to share life and times and fun with. We haven't met, but sure as heck we will.....!

Thanks to you for being YOU, and to Janis for being Janis, and for providing us a place to meet and talk and be happy and safe. If it weren't for Janis, it would never have been.

HUGS to my buddy Lesa, and to Janis too - 4eva!

Haven't been in here for a long while either - but will be coming on back to see if anyone else wants to share similar stories of friendship found, thanks to Janis and the MB...!

Love and hugs to all,
from the soup girl xxxx

Good Morning! It's getting chilly here in the great state of Ok, fall is trying to come early. It's kind of nice after the dreadfully hot and dry summer.

Linda thanks for the kind words, as always.

I think people who are meant to meet will find a way. what do you think?

We've been wondering where you got yourself too! Now we know, you've been busy canoodling with Lexa. Glad you found time to come visit us!!

I've made some really wonderful friends through this message board, some I've even spent time with numerous times.

My number one best pal is Karen, we've spent the most time together and have very similar senses of humor and attitudes.
Although I only spent one short weekend hanging out with Lucille, whose real name is Wendy, I feel like we've known each other forever. She's very politically incorrect and I LOVE that about her. Kiwi, she lives in Melbourne (I think)

and then there's Agnes, who I haven't had the pleasure of meeting yet, but who I am absolutely crazy about and who shares my great taste in science fiction writers

and then of course there's Manchester Anne..........someday we'll be together..... ;)

You is my bestest buddy, too! I mean, who ELSE would demand I send a phone pic during a concert!? Besides, I get extra points because Peg likes me! ;) Seriously, Dar and I hit it off right away. I think it had something to do with thrusting Biscoffs in her hand before I'd even said "hello!"

Welcome back, Lesa and KSG! Isn't this a wonderful place to be?

To Dee. Wow! incredible and congratulations! kids are the best!!! my son soon turns 12 and it's hard to watch them grow up, so enjoy every single second!!

This is an incredible place, but, guess what, without you guys, it would be an empty forum. so thanks for that too!

This is definitely something we can all agree on. Besides people are only strangers until you meet them!

HI ksg! love ya, lesa

Lesa, you said it like it should be said - without you ALL we wouldn't have a message board and a friendship internet cafe. I feel so blessed to know Lesa, and to have met you all - even those I haven't 'met' yet *smile*. There is nothing like a human connection - and we all have Janis! Yay!! And through this forum we've discovered things in common, things we share, things we don't share and can discuss, love, life, pain, happiness, loss - the whole human gamut happens here. And we all care as if we were in the same room.

Lesa, you will never be a stranger again - even though we haven't met. And neither will any of you.

Sending ALL of you the biggest, smoochiest, squishiest of kiwi hugs possible!! (Believe me, you aint been hugged till ya've been kiwi hugged!!! *grin*)

Also, a BIG congratulations to Lesa on earning her red belt at Tae Kwan Do about 3 weeks ago....!! Next stop - black belt!! Woohoo!!! I am SOOO proud of you, girl - you are the greatest. (anyone needs any butts, or solid wooden boards, kicked - Lesa is da GAL!)

Huge hugs to you, my Okie, red-belted, tuigirl buddy. :-)

I already feel that so many of you are friends, each of you has a special place in my heart. I will take a moment or two to send a special shout out to the characters that keep me coming back :)

Dar for whom i feel i've known all my life and who shares my insatiable passion for all things tasty and delicious.
Karen of sewing fame who couldn't possibly be any sweeter without causing cavities in those who know her.
Dear Pirate Jenny who braved the wilderness of Mercury Boulevard just to have lunch with my wife and I
BGG who was the first rudie i ever met face to face, who detoured out of her way to have breakfast with us before heading on to St Louis.
Dragonlady and Changeling who were the second and third rudies to come into our lives, hearts as wide as the great open spaces.
Dee from the colder climes up north whose kind and gentle soul shines like a beacon across the border.
Hoops and Sister Rose... hard to think of one without thinking of the other.. two very different but equally wonderful ladies whom i know i can always call on for transportation issues :D
WildflowerFever the kind and gentle giant who shares my name, despite backing the wrong football team I'm pleased to count him among my circle of friends.
Randy of Pa - the clown, the instigator, the parrot killing menace from uncivilized and medieval eastern pennsylvania. He makes the list only because he was the prototype for every mad scientists experiment gone awry.
DaveM whose tales of backwater life in minnesota provide constant amusement and horror.
GodSistah whose powerful personality speaks to mine across the great expanse of the United States, Tear the roof off my sistah.
Dear Agnes for proving to me that good fortune and bonds that go beyond friendship can indeed strike twice.
The Songdragon whose wisdom and grace go far beyond her years.
Ochiya the mysterious whose writings are always soul baring and heartfelt.
Chet whose childlike fascination with pandas reminds me its ok to be a kid and just enjoy
Aabram whose vegan agenda i may not agree with but whom i respect nonetheless for the sincerity of her convictions and her unswerving dedication to those convictions.
The lovely Pirate Queen Eva, fortune has separated us by an ocean and this is probably a good thing.. the consequences of us being in the same place at the same time could shatter the universe as we know it.
Oh there are many more i'd love to list, Our Dutch and Australian rudies who travelled far and wide to attend a little barbecue and make this summer one i'll never forget, our Kiwi representatives, everyones favorite icelander, our bus driver, our coffin builder, I could go on and on. Each and every person here has made this a home away from home for me. The JIMB is often the first place i go in the morning and the last place I check at night. You are all memorable to me, each in your own unique way.

Thankyou Janis for providing a place where people of character and people who are characters can happily coexist.

Good to see you back Lesa, You too Soupgirl! Hugs to you!

Lesa,

I missed this before somehow. I should explain that my "adopted" kids are actually cyber adoptions, David UK and Agnes from this message board. So really, it's not all that hard watching them grow up (but I do enjoy them both). ;)
