Yesterday I said goodbuy to my oldest child and said hello to a woman....my daughter got married yesterday.......oh my, what a beautyful ceremony it was. My goodness and I who thought it was only women and sissies who cry in weddings.........shoot......guess I am a sissy.

Walked her down the isle of the church and gave a speech in the wedding party.

There has been a lot to do lately at work so I didnīt have much time to prepair for it....the speech that is.....but what I did was wake up early yesterday, before the wedding......took one Janis Ian cd with me.........closed my self in one room for an hour and wrote it while listening to Janis. Her music gave me the right inspiration and the right mood.....and the speech was a success, it made people both laugh and it also brought out a tear or two to some eyes.

And the cd with Janis was STARS. Thank you Janis for your work, they inspire so many....more then you can imagine. You are the greatest.

Awww - Gisli, can't imagine what that does to a dad.
Have you heard "I loved her first" by Heartland?
I've heard it's a song that could replace "Daddy's Little Girl" at weddings.... It'll definitely choke up the strongest of dads!

I second Lin's request - pictures please!!!!!

Thank you everybody for your congratulations and good ishes. No speech (sorry) it took 20 min. in performing so it would take a lot of space to type it here......and of course it is in icelandic. Pictures I hopefully will get to morrow I will try to post them here when I get them, mostly the ones of me....yes?

Ps Marcia you are approching the schnapps the wrong way....what you have to do is....not sniff....or taste a little before you drink it......you should swallow 3-4 glasses very quickly.......after that it is all just.......numb time where everything becomes so beautyful and you become so happy and glad....well then there is the blackout, but that is another story. One thing I am glad to read is that you all had a good time in the Jan-ic and Randy got a taste of the poision.

Pps.......uhhhhh, Eva.....isnīt being married somekind of......or a part of this SM thing:p So it is nothing else then short of an heavenly bliss.....all the time.:D

LOL 3-4 GLASSES?! That would set anyone off on their ear...or rear!

Actually, I don't drink at all but I DID watch the reactions of several people who tried the schnapps. Apparently, it is an acquired taste and not for the faint of heart!!

Marcia :D

Congratulations to all concerned.

Is that Schnapps people keep talking about served at Icelandic weddings? Don't dare touch the stuff myself, but it seems as if it might serve well as a metal polish.

Marcia

bah, you get used to it after a while.. I even came up with a drink suitable for a pirate such-as-meself.

Redjack's Wrath

1 part Habenaro hot sauce
4 parts Gisli's Black Death

Pour into a shot glass...mix well.. Light on fire and put it down the hatch.

The fire is for the 'oooooo ahhh ' factor... the hot sauce.. that mellows the caraway flavor..

I offer them and their families my own special prayer:

May the four winds blow them safely home.

Thank you again everybody for your kind words.

Yes Lin these are my grandchildren and no she doesnīt know unless she is monitering me here on Janis web page, I have told her about this web page asking her to explore Janis music as much as possible before seeing her in the Netherlands next oct.

I donīt know if this link I gave you so you could she wedding pictures of them is special only for Iceland. But it is called "Baby-land" and very many icelandic parents use it as a way to keep a diary and picture about theire baby(s) and for the babys to see and have when they grow up. It is on the internet for all to see and you can write them a message in the guestbook (gestabók). It is also a webworld where mothers communicate (a forum) to one another, asking all kinds of questions of children behaviour or advice on parenthood and stuff like that.

It is avery popular webplace and I think there are about 30.000 thousand children or parents that have theire child listed on this webpage. A very cool place to be.

And Moe it was a very beautyful day, sunny, 25 degrees and no wind whatsoever.
