Thank you for the positive reviews, all. Song writing is just a hobby of mine, no head-in-the-clouds aspirations or intentions there. I have no formal training in guitar (obviously) or voice (more obviously still). I just enjoy the creative expression of it all now and then.
The video was kind of a last resort since I don't have a webcam and don't plan on ever getting one. Seems YouTube is mainly a repository for silliness or boredom-relief or worse. It's rather exciting to me to be able to put some of my musical attempts on line. Completely in a non competitive way.

Man in the Moon was one of the very first songs I tried writing Lin, and it's one of the few I'm not embarrassed by. Quick story:
My good friend Kathy used to teach music familiarization to pre schoolers back in the 80s when I wrote this. She was really enamoured with it. So much so that she asked if she could use it in her classes. Well, not only did the kids like and even request it, but so did the moms. Repeatedly. Not sure if there's some hidden meaning there about marriage mismatch in there or not. LOL Any how it felt good to know that something I'd put together was so well enjoyed.
I expect I'll eventually do some more vids Lin, since I enjoy the challenge of putting them together so much.

I enjoyed the movie very much, and I enjoyed the song as much as I did when I heard it the first time on the last Kyalla site. Thank you for sharing with us Dee.

That was my first thought: that it would be a wonderful song for kids to sing!
I'm glad it's out there for them. Nice work, Dee!:)

The year was 1986. My friend Kathy and her singing partner June were doing a benefit concert for Canadian Guide Dogs for the Blind (Kathy is), which had formed just two years before. They asked me to be their "guest performer." I joined them on three songs as I recall, Man in the Moon being one of them.
Thank you Song, Bat, Cardiff, Karen, Jack and Dar for your comments.
What a great thread Dee! I enjoy the songs, pictures and stories!

Thanks, I've been messing with the guitar for a long time, and just recently started trying to do something constructive with it, even if it's a minor thing. The track from the video, and some other pieces I've done are up on my site;

Thank you Lin, and thank you Rickster.
PS for Robert:
Did you check out all the other guitarists who post on YouTube? You could probably get some pretty good networking going with them!

Robert -- nice guitar work! You might want to check out this link:

There's a link on this site to a beautiful guitar and synthesizer piece called "Leda" by Linda Cohen, an old friend of mine from Philadelphia. I tried to post the link directly to the piece but couldn't get it to work, so you have to enter the site first. Anyway, I think you'd like Linda's work.

Dee, I love it.....
Makes me think of Leonard Cohen.
You're amazing ;)

Thanks SG, Elliott, and Kath! That's easily the most flattering comment I've ever received about Man in the Moon.
I don't know how Leonard Cohen would feel about it, but if sure feels good from my side. :D
