Some of you may recall my eye injury of this past April - but what I didn't mention was that I also took a substantial gash to my left cheek bone. As a result I immediately had no feeling on most of the left side of my face because a main nerve had been cut. Since then I have slowing regained feeling but my upper left lip and front left gum of my mouth hasn't followed. Well, a couple of days ago I accidently jabbed a drinking straw into my gum and it hurt! So now have that sensation and am anxiously hoping for the return of the stubborn spot on my upper lip.
Umm...know you guys are missing the picnicing Rudies so thought I'd break up your day.

Goodness! Well at least that's a GOOD sign that you have feeling there!
And how are you doing since your eye injury?

Judy, if your'e interested, try a bit of hypericum oil on that spot. you can get it at a health food store, just be sure it's of good quality.

Glad you're recovering, Judy.

And here I was expecting a much more, er, spicy thread topic (and I don't mean BBQ!)

I'm doing okay. Injured area healing slower than anticipated which has left me without my final prosthetic piece (the painted eye contact piece). So I'm still doing the Pirate Jenny thing.
Adaptations have been wierd beyond my imagination..like, I now have lousy night vision since I take in half the light as with two eyes. Depth perception is a whole world unto itself. Can't drive on single lane roads at night (I pull myself back from doing things I want to try when I know there's a chance I could hurt someone else in the process) but other than that I pretty much plow on through and do what I want.
Again, thanks - you all are a swell bunch of folks.

I think you are handling this so bravely Judy. I think I would be a total mess. Hats off to you.
