It's been a while since we've done something like this.

What is your favorite summertime food? OK, I can't choose just one, either, so let's make it your top 3!

1. Indiana tomatoes
2. Indiana corn
3. Watermelon

Pluots (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pluot)! Or Plumcots. Or Apriums. Or Peacotums. Asian pears... Any fresh fruit, really.

I do really miss my New Jersey sweet corn, though...

Apartment living doesn't lend itself easily to growing your own garden, so I miss that in general as well. Speaking of which, my partner's garden just got squished by a tree that fell over in his small back yard  Seems there was a tornado or microburst today in Mount Vernon, Ohio that toppled his tree. Punctured his vinyl siding, too, but he's more ticked off about the garden!

Lin

Well, yes some here do. There is an island in Iceland called Vestman-islands and there is a lot of puffins there, mind you they are not sold in stores and you can only get them by hunting them yourself or knowing someone who does.

Puffins have a very special taste that you either like or dislike, it has a strong taste of salty sea, a taste a bit like seaweed.

Iceland is a vaste land and our grandfathers and grandmothers, as mothers and fathers lived in great poverty so everything edible from what nature gave them was used. For some familys this poormans food has stayed with us more as a tradition than anything else, a wild catch from Godīs food store, something we approach with dignity and respect for nature.

Does Santa dare to bring toys to Icelandic girls and boys?

Well......we have 13 santas in Iceland that start coming, one at a time, 13 days before x- mas and for some peculiar reason they all travel either by foot or on a horseback.....hmmmm wonder why:D

Ohhh and they donīt only give gifts, them guyes are bloody rascals, they sometimes steal food etc. One steals smoked sauceges, one loves to steal candles from people, one likes to steal "skyr" (an icelandic cow juice ((milk)) product, special for Iceland) and one just loves to frighten everybody in the household by slamming doors and soforth. But theyare the nice ones, the worst of them lot are theyre father and exspecially theyre mother.......  I will tell you more about them come x-mas, I now have to go and stem:cool:
