Gosh....I've got a c.1996 Compaq sitting around.....100mhz Pentium and a whopping 1.1GB hard drive. With the add-on "deck" which holds a CD-ROM, it weighs around 15 pounds. At last, there's a list of uses other than "doorstop".

Mind, I was thinking about upgrading to a Pentium II.

The method of opening the window and throwing the broken laptop out (while cursing in frustration) also really works well in the shortterm.
