Techno Queen strikes again

I was reading a book on my iPad using the Kindle app...I couldn't figure out how to get the progress strip and home button to appear when techno queen Karen said, "well, on my iPhone I just tap it in the middle of the page...". Voila...Techno Queen is right again...this is getting pretty embarrassing...
