....the crowd of "supporters" Bush had sitting behind him during his rant on why he vetoed the Stem Cell bill? The women in their Little House On The Prairie dresses who would not make eye contact with anyone, the men in suit coats worn over collarless shirts, some of whom seemed a bit uncomfortable wearing shoes.
The only thing I can think of is that some staffer must have collected the congregation of some very rural Deep South church, the sort of church that is generally in a pole shed, where people speak in tongues during services and snakes are handled periodically. And of course where cousins marry, which helps to explain why such establishments continue to exist.
Nice to see the sort of constituency Mr. Bush represents face to face for perhaps the first time. But I must say that it didn't look much like the face of America.
