I bought his latest album yesterday: This old road. Great lyrics!
I first 'met' him in "They killed him".
Does anyone else know any of his stuff?

Agnes,
I must confess I do not know much about him, I recall he had a few big hits when I was in college, like "The Gambler." However I recently heard a very interesting bio profile of him on National Public Radio on the occasion of his 70th birthday. Here is the link:

Actually, "The Gambler" was Kenny Rogers. Kris Kristofferson wrote "Me And Bobby McGee," which was a hit for Janis Joplin, and "Sunday Morning Comin' Down," which was a hit for Johnny Cash, and "Help Me Make It Through The Night," which was a hit for Ray Price and also pretty much became a standard. My favorite song of his is "I'd Rather Be Sorry," which I once heard him sing with Karen Black on some TV variety show: the refrain line is "I'd rather be sorry for somethin' I'd done than for somethin' that I didn't do." He was best known for his songwriting until he became a movie star, playing the rugged leading man in "Alice Doesn't Live Here Any More," "The Sailor Who Fell From Grace With The Sea," "A Star Is Born," etc. Since he's gotten grayer he tends to show up more in action movies like the "Blade" series.
And I think he's still gorgeous. :o

Oak, thanks for the link. I saw that tribute album at the store - big names on it too! Haven't bought it (yet) though.
Ponytail; hell, yes, he is! :D And he has a nice voice too ;)

Ponytail,
Of course you're right. It was Kenny Rogers not Kris Kristofferson who did "The Gambler." Proving my point that I don't know much about him.

Seen him on one of the Sunday morning shows about a month ago. He spoke how he never thought he was a very good singer. He looked fantastic for a man in his 70's.

Thanks for making me picture Kenny, though, Oak. I think he's pretty cute, too!:o
