Perhaps I should have included this in a different thread but I fear it may have been submerged and passed over if I had done that. In any case there are many who will probably be greatly interested in this little bit from the latest issue of "Windows Secrets Newsletter" aka "Brian's Buzz" about a free Windoze update alternative. I'm curious: does this include updates for Windows 98? Microsoft has dropped all support for 98 and I still use it on my old laptop (not enough memory to run anything newer).

I doubt it. What you'd have to do in that case is find somebody that's got all the official update CD's that came direct from Micro$oft a while back or go with a different service like Windiz Update (free) or others (not free).

Ah well--I never use the laptop online, just for first drafts while "en route" and the like. For that sort of thing a pen and a spiral notebook would probably be more than sufficient, but the laptop also plays Solitaire and Flight Simulator.
