Diva magazine has given Nicola Tann's article on me a gorgeous 4 page spread, in this month's issue, just out. Nice article, and she asked me to make sure the UK LRC folks were aware of it.

As seen on the home page of Diva magazine - Tesco now stocks it! I just went to my local branch after reading this sticky and cleaned them out.
I love the quote "Despite the fact that she looks four foot nothing, I get the immediate impression that Janis Ian won't take any sh1t".
Well done Nicola, you got the measure of our gal!
Shame there are no photos from the LRC, but the shots of Janis are lovely.

I'd be a diva, too, but I couldn't afford the wardrobe. Not to mention, they don't make evening gowns in Big Men's sizes.:( (The fact that I'm thinking about buying evening gowns off the rack pretty much proves the "can't afford them" point, doesn't it!)

LOL snakegrl :D
In the Netherlands you can get your DIVA at ´boekhandel Vrolijk´ in Amsterdam. http://www.vrolijk.nu/
I think I can go there July 15th, if they still have a stack of the right issue I´ll buy a couple extra for the DIVA-deprived out there.

Well-written article, but pictures are the "official" FINB publicity shots and not ones taken at the interview.

Did anybody read the review for Folk is The New Black near the back of the magazine? Janis Ian's first new album in 25 years. I don't know where they got that information.
I enjoyed the interview though, and the pictures are lovely. :)

I think they were referring to the fact that it's the first "all original" album in the that long (in the sense that there are no co-writes), and they got the wording wrong. The "all original" wording, which is in another review quoted somewhere on this site, is confusing to begin with -- even if a song is a collaboration, rather than written by only one author, it's still original, right?
courtesy of a special friend who's willing to mail me stuff a far distance.
Great interview.
What a magazine....my goodness.............the things the kids are doing these days. LOL
