We just got a new Mac and I'm wondering about virus protection. I've got Norton on my old Powerbook and just realized I don't have anything on my new MacBookPro or the new iMac. Suggestions from you professional techie folks?
Also, I'm backing everything up to an external HD (1T)...should I consider some "cloud" back up as well? thanks, jm

I can't speak to the Mac situation unfortunately because I don't have one and therefore have only hearsay to go by as to the effectiveness of any of the AV programs for it. I don't know what is or isn't available for the Mac. I -will- say however that in -my- opinion if you're going to -buy- a package you should look into the ESET NOD32 package. As for any of the freebies, I haven't a clue because not all things are available for the Mac.

As I've alluded elsewhere, redundancy is your friend when it comes to backing up. That way if one of them chokes, you've got another from another area. Just make sure that they're all in synchronicity.
