The 4 of july Corita changes from the RCA to the VU-hospital in Amsterdam and on the 5 of july she wil have another surgery. Unless we couldn't wait for this surgery, it's going rather fast. I donn't know the adress yet, but i will find out. She has to stay there for 4 weeks and than another surgery. We hope the L A S T !!!
The 10 of july is her birthday, her wish was to have the surgery so this wish did came true .
If you want to send her a massage, i'm sure she will read the MB before going to the VU!

:) Hang in there Corita. I have been following your hospital stays since I joined the board, but have no idea why you need all these operations. However you seem to be improving bit by bit. I have seen your photos. So rudie power from downunder coming to you.

Thanks for all your good words! Yesterday I bought a notebook, so I can remain in contact with you when I'm at the VU (is the Free Hospital of the Universety from Amsterdam). The adres is: Corita van Nes, VU afdeling 6C, de Boelenlaan 1117, 1007 MB Amsterdam. For the one that didn't know what happend to me: I was, on 10-02-2005, hid by a car at a crossing place. I'd broke a lot of bones and they where set with iron plates. After that a lot get wrong, soms bones were not set, the doctor did this almost a year later (that was in november last year), but he didn't do a good job, because it infectit and broke again bones that already cured! Now all the iron in my pelvis goes out, then 4 weeks to heel (with AntiBiotics at that place inside), I have to stay in Hospital because the bones are not all in place. After that a construction of the pelvis with new bones out of my one body. After that 6 weeks lay down on my bed to heel all the new bones. Thank God there are a lot of Janis Ian CD's! The rehab will continue after my time in hospital. But I hope and pray that I've the courage to be in October at te concerts. I'll let you know how I'm doiing.

I've had the pleasure of meeting you in Amsterdam in April, this year, and hope to meet you, again, this time on your feet, without any crutches. Good luck in your surgery, the last one, yes? I'm sure you'll make it.
Best,
Geula.

Did visit Corita last monday in the VU Hospital in Amsterdam. The surgery, 6.5 hours, went wel. They removed a lot of screws and all kind of stuf. The docters told her that some of her bones did heal wel, and maybe she donn't not need another surgery. But for sure they want to make a CT-scan. And now we have to wait for the results. She stil has a lot of pain and high fever. But her birthday was the first day, she felt well! Corita got a lot of cards and flowers and really wanted to tel this and thank you by herself, but she cannot connect to the internet. If i know more about Corita, i wil send an update.

It's so good to have an update, and great news if Corita doesn't need as much surgery as expected.

It was lovely meeting you in April Corita, I look forward to seeing you again - hopefully without crutches - in October.
