Now that I finally entered the flip world (a week ago) with an 8 gig Flip Ultra HD (which I love) I saw a display for the Kodak Playsport (http://store.kodak.com/store/ekconsus/en_US/pd/PLAYSPORT_Video_Camera__Zx3/productID.169976100) Video camera. It seems to do everything the Flip Ultra HD does but has the extra advantage of taking SD cards for storage. (It's also waterproof which could be nice here at the beach.) Has anyone had any experience with the Kodak? just wondering... jm

The video camera I took the NPT Living Room Concert on is a Kodak, if that gives you any idea as to their quality! Now, I do believe I have a different model name than "Playsport." I do like that they use the SD storage cards. I bought an extra battery for it and recommend that you do that too. My camera only saves what I film as .mov files. You might want to check and see about that....

Thanks for the info Marcia, the quality of the LC was great. Is your camera a little camera like the flip or was it larger? If you get a chance will you let me know the model you've got? thanks, jm

Hey Joan! It's a Kodak Zi8 and it fits in your pocket like a cell phone. You have several resolution choices and don't even have to choose the HD setting to get outstanding video and audio. Of course, the higher the resolution, the more memory you need.

Here's another link to a bunch of pocket video cams.

Great link Mary. When I taught the class on Friday the teacher recorded it on a Zoom Q3 (http://www.samsontech.com/products/productpage.cfm?prodID=2020) were I doing this over, I'd seriously consider this one because of its high quality audio. So...maybe some folks reading this link are considering getting a small video camera, there are a lot of options out there. I'm not sure what the software is like with the other cameras but the FlipShare is really easy to use, edit, and share. jm

The Flip HD video camera is on sale for $89, which is a good price. I paid $125 for my Flip a few years ago. The price above is what it is selling for according to my former sister-in-law who sells Avon products. If Avon is selling it for $89, other outlets must be selling it for that price as well.

Kathleen just came home with a SONY DCR-DVD650 Handy Cam that she won at her company Christmas party. Guess what I'll be figuring out how to use before I see Janis next? Probably getting a tripod for it before then too.
